Julie Warrenfeltz
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh in 1995 with a self-designed major in Technical Writing, I launched my career with a contract technical writing firm that same year where I worked for companies such as Westinghouse and Respironics developing documentation for governmental regulatory agencies. Following in the same vein, I accepted a job writing knowledge bases for a software company developing both commercial and proprietary content for customer service organizations that improved their ability to service their customers quickly and more completely than ever before. Transitioning from developing user content to delivering end-user training, I developed and delivered the training program that these same customer service organizations needed to help them to build better and more complete knowledge bases. I spent time working with companies such Disney, Houghton-Mifflin, National TechTeam, and the University of Central Florida.
Having caught the teaching buzz, I founded Petite Ambassadors Language School in Jacksonville, FL that specializes in teaching multiple languages to children in an academically accelerated environment, and have completed over 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Education classes. The program is so cutting-edge that it has been extensively covered by all major media outlets in the North Florida area as well as in USAToday. I have completed all testing requirements to receive my teaching license in the state of Florida to teach children from birth through elementary school. I have three young children and use my practical experience to test what is taught in the educational theory classes to develop a "best practices" approach to the school curriculum and writing topics. Our reading success rate with our 4-year-olds is outstanding, with 88% of our students reading at or above a first grade reading level by the end of the 2008/09 school year.
